Microsoft HQ!!!

21st Nov (Fri): Trip to Microsoft HQ

Woo~~ got to visit Microsoft HQ (Microsoft is founded in Seattle!)

As most of the Singaporeans here are working in Microsoft, so they were kind to help us organize the tour to Microsoft!

We have to take 2 buses to reach a transit center and from there we took a shuttle bus into the Microsoft compound (which was huge!) kinda of like an industrial park.. lots of short buildings..

Before that.. a view of Mt. Rainier from one of the buses :D:D pretty pretty!!

Microsoft HQ is a small little town by itself.. they have their own shuttle bus/car service.. you just have to tell the receptionist at each building where you want to go and they will help u call ur transport! woo~
they also have their own catering service!!

Not sure if I can blog about any of the thing we saw.. but the cool technology that they showed us was related to a futuristic house which they predict would be quite common in 5-10 years time (though I feel it is not quite possible) But I have a feeling this futuristic house is something like Bill Gates’ house, which is also in Seattle!

After that we had lunch provided by Microsoft.. and their pantry is so cool… tons of drinks to choose from.. Pizza and salad was lunch and while we were eating, the HR recruiter for Microsoft Asia Pacific Region gave us a small little talk about Microsoft and how to join them… So anyone interested in working at Microsoft?? I got the contact info! :D

We then went to the Microsoft Musuem and the Microsoft Company Store. Manage to buy the Microsoft Office 2007 at the staff price :D super cheap… and only staff can buy softwares at the store.. finally I can use Office 2007 :):)

After that we made our way back to U-district and I went back to Cynthea’s house cause we would be going over to her host family hse for dinner. :) had a great time over there, talking and looking at all the photos and artwork in the house and also getting to eat some normal healthy delicious food :):)
