Green Lake

9th Nov 2008 (Sun): Field trip to Olympic Peninsula --> Trip to Green Lake

Was super excited about this field trip.. but.. the TA overslept!! Grr… Cynthea even came along to join me – taking over the identity of a korean girl I know.. Everyone was very happy cause it means they got 5 bonus points without even going for the trip. But not me.. without the field trip, I won’t be able to visit that place cause I got no transportation. (the lecturer just announced that there would be a make-up but yet to decide whether I should go for it or go somewhere further during that weekend).

Anyways, it was 8.30a.m and not wanting to go back home to sleep or do other stuff, Cynthea and I headed to Green Lake. The place was really nice and we used the whole morning to walk around the lake (while other ppl was jogging or cycling with their dogs) Had our breakfast along the lake, and we also made a stop at this chocolate cafĂ© that was recommended by Cynthea’s friend. I had hot chocolate with caramel and hazelnut and it was delicious! Hee.. Cynthea had Hot chocolate with raspberry :)

Enjoy the pictures! a really beautiful place :D

-Path to no where-

After our hot chocolate break, we finish our walk along the lake and headed to Northgate to buy my camera! :D Decided to get the Nikon S600!! *excited*

Small and compact, with a start-up time of 0.7s! which means i can just whip out my camera and snap something really quick if i see any thing random..
10 megapixels 4x wide-angle (28mm) zoom --> yay finally i can 'zi pai'!! and my head won't be the only thing in the picture :D
Other specs: 2.7-inch high resolution LCD, VR optical image stabilization, ISO 3200 capability

After that we went walking around Northgate to look for a coat that Cynthea wanted, but in the end she bought a pair of Bearpaw (super comfy shoes with fur inside!) Then we went to eat at a Mexican Restaurant. We had no idea how to eat Mexican food but the waiter and waitress there was very friendly and helpful. Keep asking if we were doing ok and explaining to us stuff. In the end the meal was only US$16 for 2.. considered cheap for US food, not forgetting the very very good service and good food! (and we still got leftovers for takeaway :p)

A little something I been wanting to post.. It is pretty common to see ‘Singapore’ appear alongside food in US and this time round, I found ‘Singapore’ again for a food item that is sold in California Pizza Kitchen. If you look carefully at the ingredient, are any of them related to Singapore?? Lol…

Shiitake Mushrooms --> Japan
Rice noodles and rice paper --> Vietnam
Szechuan Slew --> China
*pictures in this blog is taken using Rita's camera! thank you for loaning it to me for the whole day! :D
